Starting early to beat the heat (and the crowds), Duyen was a friendly and engaging guide to a fantastic part of the world with a remarkable – if little-known – story!
Starting with an early pick-up from our accommodation, our family stopped off for coffee and enjoyed an interesting drive through the region with an insight into the history of the Champa empire and an understanding of the importance of the Mỹ Sơn historical site.
Duyen showed us around the site and explained the differences between each temple and the story behind their rediscovery and restoration. We then were treated to a beautiful breakfast, an introduction to Longan fruit (delicious), and some homemade artichoke flower wine (very potent).
As a keen history buff who enjoys trying new experiences, I couldn’t recommend this tour more highly!
